1. Diet:
Keeping a check on calories is good. However, if you are not meeting your daily calorie intake you are disturbing your metabolism and it’s no good for weight loss or maintaining weight.
Remember, when body gets low on energy during metabolism it will hit certain areas in a designated series. First it attacks sugar, then muscles and then fat deposits for its energy needs. Sugar is utilized way faster and our muscles are the prey.
I am sure that you would not want to lose your muscle weight, which you have developed after a series of tiring workouts at home or even at gym.
Note: Muscles help you burn more calories. Make sure, your eating habits are not fatal for your precious muscles.
– Breakfast: Make sure you eat your breakfast within 30-45 minutes after you wake up. Kick start your metabolism and get a high level of energy throughout the day. Mostly comprising of high protein, vitamins and minerals along with fiber and few carbs.
I prefer oatmeal with yogurt and lots of crushed flax seed or nuts and different types of berries or any other fruit.
Don’t have time in the morning. You can keep it ready for yourself in the fridge overnight. No excuses to stay fit and eat right.
– Green Tea: Green tea is high is antioxidant and due to the presence of caffeine it acts as a stimulant and can boost your metabolism to almost 6-10%. Antioxidant named catechin improves fat oxidation and body’s energy production from digestion. Drink at least 3-4 cups daily.
Best is to carry a thermos of hot water to office along with tea bags. Enjoy drinking even at your desk.
– Include Fiber: Including fiber in your diet can rev your fat burning capacity as high as 20-30% (varies in every individual). Aim to consume around 20-25 grams of fiber every day.
It can be obtained from 3 servings of fruits and veggies.
– Go Organic: Well known after all those research work, people consuming organic food have lesser chances of gaining weight. It is due to absence of pesticides that causes harm to the body.
Our body was never meant to ingest pesticides, so do not give unwanted stuff to it and make sure you have better metabolism.
– Add Hot Chilly: Due to presence of the hot natural chemical in chillies they can become your best friend to increase your metabolic rate.
I love them and my meals are not complete without them. Use raw, hot and fresh chillies from the market and chop and throw these cute little angels into every preparation.
Note: Do not use chilly powder, go fresh.

I find it simple and fun to carry half liter of water bottle and finish it in one go. Do this just 5-6 times daily and you are good to go.
If you still don’t think this will work for you. Then drop few slices of fruits (any kind of food) in your water bottle and carry it with you. It looks gorgeous and you will love the naturally flavored water.
3. Exercise:

I am referring to High intensity workouts and strength training. Kicking up a notch every day you exercise, by increasing your speed or time of work outs have proven to do wonders. Weight training can help you build muscles which are a great way to burn more calories and increase your resting metabolism. Even at age 30 if you are working out weights for 2 days / week you are increasing your resting metabolism by 100-150 calories daily.
4. Snack Attack:
Eating snacks allows your metabolism going. Do not starve your body, and eat junk food. Nibble instead of gorging your food to keep a steady rate of metabolism.
Note: A six meal plan with 300 calories every meal is a great one. Else you can workout your way of planning meals, but do not eat more than 300 calories in one go. Check your daily calorie requirement.
5. Cut Trans Fat:
Trans fat are bad fats. Moreover, they will slow down your body’s capacity of burning fats, binding to fat and liver cells they lower down your metabolism. Also, they cause insulin resistance which cripples metabolic rate and triggers weight gain.
